Hook Norton Brewery Co Ltd

Brewing since 1849, Hook Norton Brewery has been in the same brewing family for 5 generations and continues to produce a wide range of award-winning cask, keg and bottled beers from its 5-story Victorian Tower Brewery.

At the Hook Norton Brewery we offer a selection of seasonal ales that complement the established core range, creating complexity with naturally grown ingredients and water drawn from the wells beneath our brewery. We are a proud, passionate, independent family owned brewery located in the Cotswold Hills. Every ale uses the finest ingredients, is openly fermented and handcrafted to give each one a character of its own. Keeping tradition alive we deliver beer by dray using our team of four Shire horses.

We are passionate about our beer and produce a range of award-winning ales. At the World Beer Awards 2018, Old Hooky was voted the United Kingdom’s Best Brown Ale and our crafty Red Rye the World’s Best Speciality Beer. Keeping with tradition, our Haymaker Ale was the champion beer at Woodfest, celebrating traditional beer in the wood.

We are SALSA accredited and SIBA Assured Independent British Craft Brewer ensuring our beer is produced and delivered to the highest quality.

Run a pub with Hook Norton

As a proudly independent family owned and run brewery, we have a long tradition of serving and selling beer through our pubs. Back in 1859 saw the beginning of the brewery’s estate with the purchase of a beer house at Down End, Hook Norton. 10 years later the Pear Tree Inn at the end of Brewery Lane was purchased. By 1907 our estate consisted of over 14 tied houses and four beer houses. Today our Hooky pub estate covers the heart of England with over 36 pubs across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire.

Visitor Centre

Whilst we do dedicate our lives to brewing the best quality ale we have a whole host of other reasons to pop in and see us at the brewery.

Brewery Tours run every day of the week. They start from the Visitors Centre and last approx 2 hours, progress around the brewery where you'll see our original steam engine, learn about our history and how we make our range of delicious beers. After a tour of the stables, if they are in residence you'll be able to see our lovely Shire Horses who still deliver beer to our local pubs in the traditional way. Upon completion of the tour, it's into our Barm Cellar bar for a beer tasting.
