St Austell Brewery has been brewing beer and real ale in Cornwall since 1851 and runs over 170 of the most popular pubs in the South West. It wins many awards for its beer and owns some of the best and most iconic pubs in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, renowned for excellent beers, locally sourced pub food and a warm Cornish welcome.

100% independent and family owned, St Austell Brewery is the 2nd largest private employer in Cornwall with a workforce of around 1,000 people. St Austell Brewery is also the South West’s largest wholesaler of wines, spirits, minerals, lagers and beers, serving over 3000 pubs, hotels, bars, clubs and restaurants in the South West of England.

With a large number of award wins under its belt, St Austell Brewery has won Regional Brewery of the Year 2012, 2013 and 2014 at The Publicans’ Supplier Awards while St Austell’s leading beer brand, Tribute Pale Ale was voted the UK’s favourite Regional Cask Ale. The Brewery also won three awards at the 2011 World Beer Awards for Proper Job and Admiral’s Ale and six St Austell beers scooped medals at the 2012 International Beer Challenge. Smugglers Grand Cru was also crowned Champion Speciality Beer at the latest Quality Drinks Awards.

  • St Austell Brewery’s five main cask ale beer brands are: Tribute, Proper Job, Trelawny, Cornish Best and HSD. The bottled beer range consists of HSD, Tribute, Proper Job, Admiral’s Ale, Trelawny, Tribute Extra, Mena Dhu Stout, Big Job, Clouded Yellow wheat beer and Korev Cornish lager. Korev Cornish Lager and Mena Dhu Cornish Stout are also available on draught.
  • Founded in 1851, the company is a recognised centre of excellence for training, accredited by the British Institute of Inn keeping (BII), offering a wide range of courses to people who work in the licensed trade.
  • All St Austell Brewery packaged beers are available online at and through Ocado. Many of our beers are also available in supermarkets nationwide.

St Austell Brewery has a pro-active environmental policy and is committed to reducing the company’s carbon footprint by 30%.

The Company is an active member of the community and sponsors may local sports in the South West, particularly rugby, cricket and Cornish Pilot Gig rowing.

St Austell Brewery also operates the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust which has donated over £500,000 to local good causes since it was founded in 2003.
