Licensees top poll of most satisfying jobs
Being a pub licensee has topped a poll to identify what job boasts all the attributes to be the most satisfying job in the UK.
In a recent poll* conducted by the Independent Family Brewers of Britain (IFBB), nearly 60% believed that becoming a pub licensee was the best job in Britain. Reasons ranged from great job satisfaction, good job security and an attractive career for those with families.
Paul Wells, chairman of the IFBB, said:
“We are pleased that people throughout the UK have realised the benefits of becoming a licensee and have named it the most satisfying job.
“Many of our licensees will agree with this news that running your own pub is a great choice of career for entrepreneurs – you have a free rein to put your own stamp on the business, whilst also receiving support, guidance and solid training from the brewery especially if you run a pub with one of the family brewers. We pride ourselves in providing licensees with long, prosperous careers for all sorts of people and the vast majority stay working within the industry for life.”
